Two local leaders have been picked to serve on transition committees for New York’s next governor.
Governor-Elect Andrew Cuomo announced the members for his three transition teams Tuesday. The members of the Education and Health, Transportation and Government Reform committees will help recruit, review and recommend people for positions in the new administration.
Broome County Executive Barbara Fiala will serve on the Government Reform Committee, a position she hopes to use to recommend people who care about the Southern Tier.
Interim Binghamton University President Peter Magrath was tabbed for the Education and Health transition team.
Both Fiala and Magrath expect to begin serving on their committees after the start of the year.
