Binghamton University will be hosting the Cross-Examination Debate Association’s National Tournament from March 18th to the 22nd.
The event will bring roughly 600 people from different Universities across the nation in order to compete for the national championship.
This is the first time Binghamton has hosted Nationals and the first time in 14 years that it has been hosted in the Northeast.
Binghamton will once again be running the tournament waste-free making it the first time a national tournament has made such an attempt.
In addition, the tournament will be running a fundraiser for Girl’s Education and Mentoring Services that provides direct assistance to survivors of human trafficking–part of the debate topic for this year’s national resolution.
The event kicks off on the 18th at the Binghamton Riverwalk Hotel downtown with registration starting at 6pm and the opening awards ceremony starting at 8pm.
Preliminary rounds take place March 19th to the 21st on Binghamton University’s campus, with a final awards ceremony taking place at the Osterhout Concert Theater starting at 7pm.
Elimination rounds will continue on the 22nd at the Riverwalk with the final round scheduled to begin at 8pm.
All events are open for the public to attend. A full schedule of events can be found at: https://commweb.fullerton.edu/jbruschke/web/ViewInvite.aspx?ID=96 .
