Binghamton Mayor Matt Ryan announced new recycling initiatives for the city Monday as part of America Recycles Day.
Weis Markets has agreed to distribute both recycling information and yellow bins at their Binghamton stores this weekend. The bins are available year-round to all city residents at fire stations and City Hall.
Mayor Ryan says blue recycling receptacles will be placed in city parks starting this spring and compost bins are now for sale at City Hall. The bins are already available at the county’s Solid Waste Management office.
