The Owego boys’ basketball team contained two of Johnson City’s scorers Wednesday night, but watched Ian Pettiford drop 24 as they lost 65-51 on their home court in the WEBO Game of the Week.
The Indians used different defenses to hold Troy Robinson to 12 points, fresh off his 31-point performance last week, and limit big man Ryan Clark to 11. But it was Pettiford who stepped up to lead the Wildcats, hitting a few long threes to help down the Indians.
Mark Merritt had 16 points and double-digit rebounds for Owego, which fell to 1-3 with the loss. Johnson City is a perfect 4-0.
