A Binghamton man has been sentenced to 23 years in prison for the 2009 death of his girlfriend.
31-year-old Francis Rogers was sentenced in Broome County Court. He was convicted in September of manslaughter in connection with the death of 25-year-old Katie Chappell.
The woman’s body was found in her Binghamton apartment. Medical examiners ruled that she died from blunt force trauma.
In addition to the conviction on manslaughter charges, Rogers was also found guilty of 11 counts of criminal contempt and several counts of assault. Chappell had an order of protection out against Rogers at the time of her death.
