The multi-million dollar roundabout project in downtown Binghamton has been temporarily put on hold. Construction work on the project was already supposed to be underway, and the project was supposed to be finished in the fall. But city engineers like Phillip Krey told YNN they have had a more difficult time acquiring all the temporary easements than they previously anticipated. City officials say they are optimistic they can begin construction work in August.

The city says none of the businesses in the area of the project will be affected by construction work. The proposed roundabout will replace traffic lights at the intersection of Court, Chenango and Exchange streets.
