A search for the body of a woman believed to have drowned in the Chenango River continued yesterday.  The Broome County dive team was in the Chenango River Wednesday, searching for the remains of 39 year old Carri Michalski.  She was one of four people in an SUV driving along I-88 West in the Town of Fenton Friday, when the vehicle hit a guard rail and went airborne before crashing into the Chenango River. The bodies of two others were recovered from the SUV. The driver made it out alive.  Crews have been searching for Michalski’s body for the last few days, but their efforts have been hampered by rain and high water levels. Warmer weather allowed them to bring back search divers for the first time since the night of the accident.  Officials are planning to regroup and reassess their strategy today.
