Seed Starting Workshop this Saturday in Binghamton

The second workshop in VINES’ Green Thumb and Harvest Kitchen Educational Series on Seedling Starting is being held on March 5th from 1pm-2:30pm in the Binghamton Urban Farm greenhouse, located at 16 Tudor St in Binghamton.
This hands-on workshop will teach participants the basics of starting their own transplants from seed.
This workshop will cover the why, where, and how of seed starting.
You will learn about various methods, including using soil blocks, as well as low cost options.
Seed planting techniques will be demonstrated and there will be an opportunity for you to get your hands dirty.
This workshop is held in the greenhouse, so be sure to bundle up.

Future workshops will cover composting and organic soil improvement, canning and other food preservation techniques, season extension methods, and cooking with garden fresh vegetables.
