On Wednesday night, Binghamton Police responded to a call of shots fired in the area of North Street and Mather Street. Witnesses claimed that a group of men were arguing and fighting in the street when a vehicle pulled alongside the group and shots were fired. The vehicle was described as a light-colored hatchback. The driver is believed to be a heavy-set Hispanic male with his hair pulled back into a ponytail. Shortly after the shooting, 30-year-old Anthony Carter of Binghamton walked into the emergency room seeking treatment for a gunshot wound to the leg, which was a non-life-threatening injury. Another individual involved in the incident, 32-year-old James High of Binghamton, also came to the emergency room for an injury sustained to his elbow. Binghamton Police are now seeking any information regarding the shooting. Anyone with information should contact the department at 772-7080.
