Tuesday evening, the New York State Police received a report from Lourdes Hospital that a one year old male child had been severely burned.
An investigation revealed the child had been subjected to immersion in extremely hot water at the residence of Christopher Chisholm, who had been watching the victim as the child’s mother was at work.
The victim suffered 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree burns and has been transferred to the Clark Burn Unit in Syracuse for further care.
The State Police in Binghamton have arrested Chisholm, 23, of Binghamton for Assault 2nd Degree.
Chisholm was arraigned before Town of Chenango Court and sent to the Broome County jail without bail.
