Canada got some revenge with a 4-1 semifinal win over Team USA – and Johnson City native Jerry D’Amigo – in the World Junior Hockey Championships Monday in Buffalo.
D’Amigo and his American teammates were looking for a repeat of last year’s World Juniors Championship win. With last night’s loss, they will be forced to play for the Bronze Medal against Sweden – and Binghamton Senators goalie Robin Lehner – on Wednesday. Canada will play Russia for the gold.
D’Amigo called Monday the most disappointing night of his hockey career. The 19-year-old has registered a goal and an assist for Team USA over their first four games at the HSBC Arena.
