Traffic is up at the Greater Binghamton Airport.
From July to September this year, airport officials say more than 30,000 passengers flew out of the Broome County-owned airport, which is up almost 14 percent from the same time period last year.
The increased passenger activity has led airlines to add extra trips, like Delta, who added a third round trip to its schedule at the airport.
Aviation Commissioner Carl Beardsley attributes most of the increased passenger activity to natural gas drilling in Pennsylvania. He says energy hubs like Dallas, Denver and Houston are now high demand destinations out of the Binghamton Airport.
