Two Arrested for Theft from Norfolk Southern Railroad

The Broome County Sheriffs Office has arrested John Chordas Jr., 29, and Scott Doty, 32, both of Binghamton
The men have been charged with felony Criminal Possession of Stolen Property.
The two are accused of possessing copper wire stolen from the Norfolk Southern Railroad.
The wire was stolen in mid February from railroad tracks in the Town of Union.
Additionally Chordas was charged with trespass a violation for being on the railroad property.
Both were taken into custody earlier today in the Town of Dickinson.
Chordas was released and ordered to appear in the Town of Union Court on March 22, 2011.
Doty was arraigned in the Town of Chenango Court on the charge and also on an unrelated bench warrant for a previous criminal conviction.
He is being held at the Broome County Sheriffs Correctional Facility without bail.
The Norfolk Southern Railroad Police assisted in the investigation.
