Union-Endicott Central School District teachers nabbed three out of the top four awards at the annual “inspiring thousands,” art show at the Orazio Salati Studio & Gallery on State Street in Binghamton.
Union-Endicott High School teacher Cindy Henry was honored with the “Best of Show” award for her piece, “Rodanthe I.”
John Rodrigues, a teacher at the Jennie F. Snapp Middle School, won third place honors for his work, “Stream Bed.”
UEHS teacher Trevor Herceg received honorable mention for his clay creation, “Nestled Jar & Large Bowl.”
Regional art educators submitted 48 works for the event, which is organized by the local branch of the New York State Art Teacher Association.
They are on display at the Binghamton gallery through the end of March, including the First Friday event on March 4.
The second annual exhibition was juried by Alexandra Davis – an adjunct professor of Printmaking and Drawing at Binghamton University – and Pastel Society of America Signature Member Genevieve Cerwonka.
