We have new information for you this morning on a car chase that we reported to you yesterday. A Pennsylvania woman has been arrested after starting a police-chase in Broome County. 27-year-old Sara Muskas of Hallstead allegedly stole items from the Wal-Mart in the Town Square Mall in Vestal around 7 o’clock Sunday evening. When Vestal Police attempted to stop her as she left the store, she fled the police and was involved in a minor accident on Route 434 at Rano Boulevard. After hearing a radio broadcast of the incident, a member of the Broome County Sheriff’s Office saw Muskas’ vehicle traveling east on Floral Avenue in Johnson City. When the officer attempted to stop her, Muskas refused and continued traveling through the City of Binghamton, striking two other vehicles as she did so. From there, she traveled onto Conklin Avenue and struck another vehicle at the intersection of Home Avenue. At that point, she fled the vehicle on foot and was apprehended a short distance from the scene of the final accident. She was allegedly in possession of several stolen items including cell phone equipment, ear phones, Benadryl and other personal care items from Wal-Mart. She is facing multiple charges including possession of stolen property, fleeing police, and reckless endangerment. Muskas may face additional charges from the Binghamton and Vestal police departments. Nobody is believed to be injured as a result of any of the accidents.
