Vestal High School Team Wins Science Olympiad

Twelve high schools from Broome, Tioga, Chemung, and Delaware counties competed in the Science Olympiad Saturday at Binghamton University.
Hundreds of students participated.
The teams competed in areas of chemistry, physics, biology, and also several more specialized areas such as protein modeling, optics, and magnetics.
The Vestal High School Team finished first overall.
Maine-Endwell High School and Union-Endicott High were second and third.
The top three teams will advance to the state finals at West Point in March.
The top two finishers at West Point will compete in the national finals at the University of Wisconsin in May.
