Raymond K Anderson has been identified as the victim of yesterday’s apartment house fire in Binghamton.
The fire near at 116 Henry Street, was reported at about 11AM.
The fire started in the apartment of the victim.
It took firefighters only five minutes to extinguish the blaze.
The building had eight apartments. All other residents escaped safely.
Tenants reported that they did not hear any alarms.
The owner, Allam Afify said he had working smoke alarms in the building, but residents sometimes took the batteries.
The cause has not yet been determined, but it is not believed suspicious.
