Sub-zero temperatures don’t stop the homeless from being homeless, and it didn’t stop volunteers in Binghamton from finding out what being homeless is like. The 5th annual Walk A Mile in My Shoes event raised money and awareness Saturday for local efforts to combat homelessness. Cities across New York participated in the annual Rescue Mission event, where volunteers raised money by learning firsthand some of the difficulties of being homeless. Cold temperatures are part of the daily struggle. Adults walked for $25 and children walked for $10. All of the money raised goes to the Rescue Mission. Other walks across the state took place in Syracuse, Auburn and Ithaca.
