The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a Winter Storm Warning for snow… which is in effect until 7AM EST Monday.
* Locations: central New York
* hazards: snow. Snow may be intense at times late this afternoon and early tonight.
* Accumulations:8 to 12 inches possible by Monday morning.
* Timing: rain changes to snow from west to east this morning. The snow will intensify this afternoon.
* Temperatures: starting in the 40s at daybreak this morning and falling to the mid 20s tonight.
* Impacts: rain will rapidly change to snow during the late morning and afternoon hours which may cause quick snow accumulations and freezing of area roads. A very brief period of sleet and freezing rain will be possible before changing to all snow. Heavy total snow accumulations may prolong hazardous travel into early Monday.
