Broome Co. Health Dept. & Broome Co. Sheriffs Office Partner To Hold Car Seat Check

The Broome County Health department in partnership with the Broome County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting child car seat check on Thursday, August 9th from 4PM to 7PM. The event will be held at the Visions Federal Credit Union branch at SUNY Broome. Car crashes are a leading cause of death in children from 1 to 13 years old. Correctly installed car seats can reduce the risk by as much as 71 percent. Only 17 percent of car seats are installed or used properly. Interested families should bring their child safety seat(s), their children, the vehicle the child safety seat will be installed into, the car seat manual and the vehicle manual.  Inspections will be done on a first come, first serve basis.
