Broome County: En-Joie Golf Course needs to be turned over to county for repairs

Broome County has released the results of an irrigation study conducted on En-Joie Golf Course, and county executive Jason Garnar believes the results prove that the Village of Endicott should turn the course over to the county.

The study estimates that it will cost over $7.8 million dollars to replace the course’s aging water system.

Broome County has operated the course under an agreement with Endicott for the past 17 years, but it is still owned by the village.

The county says the upgrade is necessary to keep the course up to PGA standards and make sure the popular PGA Champions Tour event continues to call En-Joie home.

Broome County can’t bond for the money to pay for the necessary replacement unless it actually owns the course.

The Village of Endicott has commissioned its own study.
