The Broome County Sheriff’s #1 Most Wanted fugitive was caught this week following a traffic stop in Philadelphia and arrested on a felony weapons charge after evading police for 10 months.
Jeremy Lewis, 27, of Endicott, was wanted for possession of a handgun that was discovered during a domestic disturbance in Endicott on October 12, 2023. Following the domestic incident, Lewis fled the area and law enforcement had initially been unable to locate him.
This week, members of the Broome County Sheriff’s Warrants Division had tracked Lewis to the Philadelphia area and alerted the local U.S. Marshal’s Regional Fugitive Task Force. The Task Force was preparing to arrest Lewis at his last known Philadelphia address when Lewis was located and arrested during a routine traffic stop on Monday evening, August 19, in Philadelphia.
Lewis will remain in custody in Philadelphia until he is extradited back to Broome County for arraignment on the charge of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, a Class C Felony.
