Broome County Woman Arrested for Abandoning her Newborn

On Thursday, the New York State Police arrested Sara Clauson, 26, of Lisle for Reckless Endangerment, a Felony.
On June 16th, Troopers responded to the Shady Maple Trailer Park for a report of an abandoned newborn infant.
The investigation determined Sara Clauson had given birth to the infant during the early morning hours of June 16th and then abandoned the infant on a lawn near another residence within the trailer park.
The infant was discovered approximately 6 ½ hours later.
The infant was transported by Broome County Ambulance to Wilson Memorial Hospital where she remains in stable condition.
Broome County Child Protective Services has taken protective custody of the baby girl pending Broome County Family Court Action.
Broome County District Attorney Gerald Mollen was informed of this investigation and advises additional charges may be filed after presentation to the Grand Jury.
Clauson was arraigned before Town of Lisle Justice Penny Dalfavero and released on her own recognizance.
