Broome County Sheriff’s Office detective division arrested six people Monday as a result of a month-long comprehensive, investigation into larcenies from unlocked vehicles. The sheriff’s office began the investigation after receiving numerous reports of persons entering unlocked vehicles and stealing personal property during the overnight hours, specifically in the Chenango Bridge, Hillcrest and Upper Front Street areas.
These following people were arrested;

Uniformed deputies in the patrol division worked diligently patrolling these areas, developing suspects who were stopped and interviewed during the overnight hours. The sheriff’s office also received surveillance video footage and tips through social media accounts from private citizens, which proved to be beneficial and aided the investigation.
Enough evidence and probable cause was developed to submit an application for a search warrant seeking stolen property at a residence at 71 Grant Road in the Town of Chenango. Upon execution of the warrant, a loaded Ruger LCP .380 caliber handgun, as well as some other miscellaneous items, but identifiable property was located and recovered. A small amount of ecstacy and Adderall, both controlled substances, were also located.
All six persons were taken to the Broome County Sheriff’s Office Correctional facility for the Central Arraignment to be arraigned on their respective charges.
