Broome Executive Garnar Upset by July 4 Gathering that ‘Put Peoples Lives at Risk’

“This is EXACTLY what will drive our COVID numbers back up and put people’s lives at risk in addition to putting our local businesses in jeopardy of being shut down again. I will use whatever means I have at my disposal to stop this,” said Broome Executive Jason Garner today after learning of a large holiday gathering in Binghamton.

Broome County Health Department has learned a person who was at a large gathering on July 4 at 82 Front Street in Binghamton has tested positive for COVID-19.

The department has asked anyone at the gathering to self-quarantine until July 18th. Contact your healthcare provider if you develop symptoms. Symptoms of COVID-19 include cough, fever and shortness of breath.
