Broome Sheriffs Still Hope For Armored Vehicle

Jury Selection began Monday in the double murder trial of Anthony Pavone, who was captured in Broome County 15 months ago, after a long standoff with local police.  It might have been over sooner, but it took four hours for an armored vehicle to arrive.  Police moved in after a Deputy spotted Pavone’s truck at the Del Motel in Kirkwood.  And according to SWAT Team Captain Michael Fedish, logistics were difficult.
The Pavone standoff was still fresh in the minds of Fedish and others, when the Pentagon offered to loan three surplus, Up-Armored Humvees to local Police Departments.  Broome’s application was accepted.
