A Chenango man was arrested Thursday for allegedly stealing items from his parents’ home and pawning them. 34-year-old Matthew Aton was arrested by Broome County Sheriff’s deputies after his mother reported that he had stolen her property.
He admitted to stealing a tablet and a leaf blower from his parents in order to pawn the items for money, confessing to his parents after they confronted him. He was charged with petit larceny and sent to the Broome County jail. The property is still yet to be recovered.
