Several fire departments responded to a house fire in Conklin Monday morning.
The call came at around 8:30 am for a blaze on Millburn Drive. Fire companies from Conklin, the Town of Binghamton, Kirkwood, Great Bend, Hallstead and Five Mile Point all answered the call. The fire broke out in the second story of the house and firefighters fought the blaze from below and from above, using a ladder truck from Hallstead.
Windy conditions reignited the flames at several points during the morning. By noon, the flames had subsided but firefighters remained on the scene.
The home’s residents and their pets reportedly made it out of the building safely.
