County Employees Honored For Saving Lives

A group of Broome County employees were honored by the county executive for saving the lives of two people this month.  A dispatcher, security officer and sheriff’s deputy were commended for reviving a man who stopped breathing in Otsiningo Park June 2nd.  In another instance, a 14-year-old boy was having difficulty swimming at Cole Park. When a lifeguard pulled him to shore, he was unconscious and not breathing. The park’s lifeguard team and emergency personnel were able to revive the teen.  Lifeguard Eric Lipski told YNN it was day they’ll never forget.

Each of the honorees was awarded a certificate for their outstanding efforts.
