Governor Andrew Cuomo has announced funding that will be headed to Broome County to update their emergency services. $6 million in funding will be headed to the county and be used to upgrade the Broome’s radio tower sites. The updates will allow for easier communication between county and out-of-county police, fire, and EMS, if additional help needs to be called in during a disaster. Broome will also be using the funding to upgrade its current 911 system.
