The US Drug Enforcement Agency arrested 16 people from Broome and Cortland counties in connection to federal indictments charging them with possessing pseudo-ephedrine, an over-the-counter drug. It’s used to produce methamphetamine. The charges were announced Wednesday. If convicted, these defendants face up to 20 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000 and terms of supervised release of up to three years.
