A man is dead after driving off the road and hitting a tree, according to New York State Police.
Police said the accident happened at 6:00 a.m. Saturday on Airport Road in the Town of Deposit. According to police, 52-year-old Gerard Kamp of Deposit, was driving a 2014 Mercedes Benz on Airport Road when he failed to make a sharp left curve in the road. Police said the vehicle traveled off the west shoulder of the road and struck a tree. Kamp was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
