Drug Lab Causes Town Of Union House Fire

The Broome County Hazmat Team was called to a house fire in the Town of Union. The fire was called in at 2707 Yale Street just after 9:00 Friday night. When crews arrived, they could see flames and heavy smoke coming from a window. The resident told the Fire Chief he had been making an illegal drug and had severe burns on his hands. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Crew members had to be decontaminated by the hazmat team. State Police are now investigating the fire.
