An Endicott man is facing multiple felony drug charges following a traffic stop by members of the Broome County Sheriff’s Strategic Response Group (SRG) in Binghamton.
On Saturday, July 6, members of the Sheriff’s SRG performed a routine traffic stop on a black Infiniti G35 in the Prospect Street/Route 17-W exit ramp in the City of Binghamton.
When speaking to the driver, 59-year-old Kenneth D. Jordan, Sr., of Endicott, SRG deputies observed a knotted wrap plastic bag hanging out of his pocket. The subsequent search found Jordan to be in the possession of multiple narcotics, including:
- 12g of a blue, powdery substance that field tested positive for fentanyl
- A small container holding 0.3g of a white powdery substance that field tested positive for cocaine
- $1,440 in cash wrapped in several bundles, consistent with the sale of narcotics
Following the investigation, Kenneth D. Jordan, Sr. was charged with:
- Criminal Possession of Narcotics with Intent to Sell in the 3rd Degree, a Class B Felony
- Criminal Possession of Narcotics in the 4th Degree, a Class C Felony
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree
- Traffic Violations for speeding and driving without an inspection certificate
Jordan was transported to Central Arraignment Part for arraignment and released after being issued appearance tickets returnable to the City of Binghamton Court.
The Sheriff’s SRG is a specialized team of deputies charged with targeting quality-of-life concerns and safety needs of Broome County communities, utilizing statistical and crime-mapping data from the Southern Tier Crime Analysis Center to identify areas with reoccurring issues and activity.
