A Broome County jury has found Kelvin L. Lebron, 26, of Endicott, guilty of Reckless Assault of a Child, a Felony, for a November 2017 incident in the Village of Endicott. At trial, prosecutors proved Lebron recklessly caused serious physical injury to the brain of a three-month-old female child, by shaking her.
“Lebron was convicted of a senseless act of violence against a helpless three-month-old child … and (Monday) justice was served,” said Broome County District Attorney Michael A. Korchak.
The district attorney’s office did not release information on Lebron’s sentence but New York law requires a minimum sentence of two years and a maximum of seven years in prison for conviction on the violent felony charge.
Lebron was arrested in January 2018 following an investigation by the Endicott Police Department. He was
then indicted by a Grand Jury in June 2018. Sentencing is scheduled for May 18.
