A new committee is being formed in Endicott to focus on community issues that matter most to village residents. The Community Response Committee will be made up of a “cross-section” of residents from different neighborhoods who will work with village officials to address concerns, according to Mayor John Bertoni. By bringing together people from various parts of the village to talk about what is happening in their neighborhoods, the committee should be able to highlight common problems and figure out how best to solve them. And it means residents won’t have to wait until a village board meeting to let officials know about problems in their neighborhoods. Eight residents are expected to sit on the committee. The group is scheduled to have its first meeting with the mayor next week.
