Police have released the details of a family dispute that ended in a stabbing this weekend.
Friday evening, 62-year-old Timothy Harvey of Endicott reportedly told his 21-year-old son Nicholas to leave his house and not return for the night. Nicholas responded by punching interior walls and a door in Timothy’s home, causing damage. Around 3 o’clock Saturday morning, the younger Harvey returned home through the dining room window and got into an argument with his mother. He allegedly waved a knife at his mother and slapped the phone out of her hands as she attempted to call 911.
Timothy Harvey, carrying an icepick and a knife, came downstairs and allegedly stabbed his son in the leg, and cut his hand during the confrontation. Timothy has been charged with a felony count of second-degree assault, and has been sent to the Broome County Jail.
Nicholas is being charged with misdemeanor counts of menacing and criminal mischief.
