A man the Broome County Sheriff’s Office says is responsible for two recent armed robberies has been arrested. Joseph Rose of Endicott was taken into custody yesterday for stealing a vehicle. During the investigation, authorities also linked Rose to two armed robberies that happened just days apart this month — at Lupo’s Char-Pit and Manley’s Mighty Mart. Rose is accused of stealing a Dodge Caravan on Wednesday from the parking lot of Brother’s 2 restaurant on Watson Boulevard. The van had approximately $10,000 worth of electronic equipment inside. A short time later, the van was found unoccupied on Elliot Street. Authorities saw Rose in the area and after a short foot chase, he was taken into custody. Rose was charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree, and criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree. Information discovered during the investigation led deputies to charge Rose with the robberies at Lupo’s and Manley’s. He faces two counts of robbery in the second degree for those crimes, and was taken to the Broome County Jail without bail.
