Two men have been arrested for stealing metal after their truck got stuck in the mud.
On Thursday night, a property owner on Nanticoke Drive in the town of Union called the police and reported that an unknown vehicle was stuck in the mud on his posted property. Deputies found several pieces of construction metal and chains in the truck bed, which was then taken off the property.
Friday morning, 32-year-old Andrew Honnick of Endicott and 23-year-old Chad Schurr of Little Meadows were taken into custody after returning to the scene and asking investigators what had happened to their truck.
Both men were charged with criminal possession of stolen property and criminal trespass. They were processed and released to appear in the town of Union court at a future date.
