An Endicott native and U-E grad was shot and killed last week in North Carolina after a dispute with another driver, according to police in the Charlotte suburb of Concord. Concord police found David Pittarelli dead of a gunshot wound the night of April 30 in a residential area of Concord. Police identified the other person involved as Ryan Lee Cochran of Concord, a firefighter with the nearby city of Kannapolis Fire Department.
An initial investigation found that Cochran was driving with his girlfriend from Kannapolis toward Concord when a vehicle began following them. The vehicle continued for several miles, and both pulled into a residential area, where an altercation occurred and Pittarelli was fatally shot.
