A section of Taft Avenue in Endwell that was closed after a sinkhole opened Saturday night has been temporarily reopened. The Broome County Public Works Department said the sinkhole was caused by short periods of heavy rains on Saturday. One lane on the street will remain closed for some time. Crews need to close the street again once pipe repair takes place in the next three to four weeks.
