During a press conference today, Broome County Executive Debbie Preston addressed rumors that she used a Town of Conklin credit card for personal use. Preston told the media that she had taken a credit card out in both her personal name and the Town of Conklin to replace items after the flood of 2011. Preston says that taxpayer money was not used to finance the items purchased.
Since making the purchases, Preston says that the credit card bills have been resolved, and she has not been arrested or indicted on any charges.
Preston says that she will not resign, and will also remain on November’s ballot for reelection as Broome County Executive.
