Federal Reserve Report Calls Binghamton Region ‘Stable’

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York recently reviewed data from the bureau of labor statistics for areas around the state including the Southern Tier.

The results are that the Greater Binghamton Region has seen little-to-no growth in the past year. However, researchers are saying that might not be a bad thing. Not going up, is better than continuing to go down, and what the Fed says is that employment numbers are leveling out and stabilizing in our region, and THAT is actually an encouraging sign.

The researchers say stability is good for the Binghamton area, which they say has suffered since the recession. When it comes to other regions of note, the experts say Albany is on the rise with moderate growth, while Elmira is still declining.
