It has been confirmed that the four Union-Endicott High School students who attempted to break the world record for “largest serving of mashed potatoes” did indeed break the record. Evan Armstrong, Tyler Hubeny, Colin Stockdale and Jason Lin call themselves the Brotatoes. Last June, the four then-juniors made 2,641 pounds of mashed potatoes. After weighing, the mashed potatoes were then spread out in baking sheets, frozen, and donated to CHOW. The record that stood before the Brotatoes took to the kitchen stood at 2,296 pounds and was held by a duo in France.
