Two top waste management providers in the Southern Tier will each pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines.  According to the New York Attorney General’s office, Bert Adams Disposal and Taylor Garbage Services conspired to rig bids, allocate customers, and fix prices for trash and recycling services. The conspiring forced Broome County residents and businesses to pay artificially inflated prices for their services.  The AG says the two providers colluded on bidding for certain municipal contracts.  The investigation revealed this activity from July 2014 through May 2016.  Both pled guilty in Broome county Court on Monday.  Taylor Garbage Service will pay half-a-million dollars in fines, while Bert Adams Disposal will pay 850k in fines.  Robert Taylor will also personally pay $50k in fines, and Bert Adams will personally pay $75k in fines.
