Heavy Traffic at Port Crane Gun Show

The Port Crane annual gun show saw heavy traffic this weekend. The Port Crane gun show has been running for 10 years, but attendees said they sensed a new attitude this year.
After the shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, along with several other shootings over the past year, gun control debates have come to the forefront of the nation.
Gun sellers say the increase in attendance is because people believe it will become more difficult to obtain firearms in the future. In New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s State of the State address last Wednesday, the issue was a hot topic.
Cuomo is proposing closing private sales, requiring mandatory background checks, banning high magazine counts, and keeping guns out of the hands of the mentally ill.
