Argument, Fight, Gun, Two Wounded in Johnson City

The Johnson City Police Department is investigating an incident on Grand Avenue near Boland Drive at about 10:30 PM Tuesday.  The incident began as an argument and escalated into a physical fight involving multiple subjects. A gun was introduced into the fight and two individuals sustained minor non-life threatening wounds.

Chief Brent Dodge said police do have a suspect in custody and anticipate charges to be filed.  Detectives are attempting to identify and locate the other subjects that were involved.

JCPD detectives were assisted by the Metro SWAT team Wednesday morning executing a search warrant on Hudson Street for evidence related to the incident. Tuesday night’s incident is not believed to be connected to last week’s homicide.

Johnson City police patrols will maintain a heavy presence in the area to reassure neighborhood residents of their safety and to deter any further incidents.
