The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force concluded an investigation into the sale of heroin Wednesday. Investigators attempted to take the target of the investigation, 24-year-old Raman Punter of Binghamton, into custody in the parking lot of the Walmart in Johnson City. Punter fled on foot onto nearby railroad tracks. He was caught shortly thereafter by investigators who recovered heroin and crack cocaine from the area that they observed Punter attempting to discard while fleeing. Punter is currently being held at the Johnson City Police Department pending his arraignment.
