The Johnson City Police Department responded to a store on Baldwin Street to investigate a possibly counterfeit $50 bill. The store employee told police that a man had made purchases with a bill she thought was fake. Following an investigation that included a review of store video, police arrested 35-year-old Edward Benn of Johnson City on the charge of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument. Benn was arraigned in Johnson City Village Court and was remanded to the Broome County Jail.
