There has been some confusion recently regarding political endorsements with respect to the Broome County District Attorney race. Johnson City Police Chief Brent Dodge has issued a statement regarding some erroneous reports. He said the reports may stem from the fact that a Johnson City PBA member recently appeared at an event announcing that the New York State Union of Police Associations
(NYSUPA) is endorsing a particular candidate. That officer was at the event solely as a state representative. Dodge said…to be clear, that officer was not at the event representing the Johnson City Police Benevolent Association, nor the Johnson City Police Department. The chief said the police department is not taking a stance in supporting any particular political candidate in any political race.
